Nancy Hills

Costume Designer and Clothing Historian
​Nancy Hills was born in the family Studebaker in San Mateo, California. She spent 34 years as the head of the Theatre Costume Design program at Utah State University. 

​Nancy was a recipient of the Janet Arnold Award/Society of Antiquaries in London. She was funded to take patterns from two historic clothing collection in the UK. White reproductions of the garments were constructed and have been exhibited in the UK and the US. The work has culminated in the book Recreating Historic Dress.

In 2014, Nancy gave a TEDxTALK on the impact of WWII on women's clothing called Make do and Mend.

Cazier Professor Lifetime Achievement Award for Caine College of the Arts/ 2024
​

The Cazier Professor Lifetime Achievement award is given annually to recognize a senior faculty member who has demonstrated 20+ years of consistent excellence in each aspect of their role statement. While the winner will be named that year's Cazier Professor, each winner will retain the title of Cazier Professor throughout their career.
